Two Men Face Charges Over Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Assault
Two men have been charged following a suitcase robbery where a believed to be pepper spray resulted in harm at the major London air hub.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, are accused of two counts of robbery and charges for administering a noxious substance, authorities have stated.
The charges follow an probe of an assault at the parking structure at Terminal 3 on the weekend. Earlier that day, two female travelers had their suitcases stolen after getting out of a parking garage elevator, according to law enforcement.
A toddler was one of the people hurt during the incident. A total of five individuals required hospital care and were subsequently released.
This event – described by police as was a standalone event and not being treated as terrorism – caused disruptions to rail services and the temporary blocking of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a limited duration.
