'Trapped in a Dreadful Dream': Loved Ones of Missing Young People Await News After Alpine Blaze
The families of teenagers lost after a tragic blaze at a venue in a Swiss ski resort are facing an excruciating wait for official news and requesting information about their children online.
The fire ripped through the a popular bar in the alpine resort, located in the Swiss Alps of the Valais region, in the small hours of New Year's Day. Confirmed footage depict the roof structure being engulfed in flames as bottles with fireworks are raised in celebration.
Officials have indicated that it could take days if not weeks to identify the those who perished of the tragedy, which killed 40 people and injured another 119. A spokesperson said on the latest update that 113 of the injured have been identified, with efforts continuing to identify the final individuals.
In the interim, loved ones have been using the internet to request any news about their friends who were present at the venue that fateful night.
Heartbreaking Pleas for the Unaccounted For
The location of teenager from Switzerland Arthur Brodard, a teenager, are currently unknown, according to an public plea from his parent.

The Italy's foreign ministry has indicated that six of its citizens have not been located.
Among them is Emanuele Galeppini, a teenage sportsman, who hailed from Genoa but now residing in the UAE.
The national sporting body has stated that he is no longer with us, without mentioning the fire, honoring a "talented young man who embodied passion and true sportsmanship."
His parent, reportedly stated that his son was at the bar and was last heard from around midnight. An official spokesperson has clarified that a formal confirmation of his death is not yet.
Other Missing Individuals
Giovanni Tamburi, sixteen, is also among the missing. His parent explained that he had been on vacation but had ventured out with friends and found himself at the venue.
"A companion said they escaped after the fire erupted and that he had his phone with him, but then at a specific moment he lost sight of him," she explained, adding he had been wearing a distinctive piece of jewelry.
One of his teachers stated, "I've always been struck by his kindness and positive demeanor, combined with great maturity. Every time ask if help out."
Alice Kallergis, who holds both Greek and Swiss nationality but lives full-time in the country, was also present on New Year's Eve, according to sources.
Her sibling has shared an appeal online, saying the relatives has had "no information" regarding the 15-year-old or the three friends she was with, who are also reported missing.
Officials from her other nation say they are closely watching the developments.
