Sharing on Instagram, actor Cary Elwes, who rose to fame in Reiner's 1987 classic *The Princess Bride*, explained he only now felt able to post publicly about his profound loss.

He also paid tribute Michele Reiner, stating: "Asserting that they were a formidable pair would be an understatement. My heart still hurts every time I think of you." He concluded with a quote from *The Princess Bride*: "Sure, death cannot stop true love but living is anguish without you."

Martin Scorsese Reflects on a Colleague and Comrade

In a separate piece, legendary director Martin Scorsese paid homage to Reiner, whom he originally knew in the 1970s.

"Right away, I loved being with Rob. We had a instant connection for each other. He was very funny and sometimes sharply witty, but he was never the kind of guy who would dominate the room," Scorsese wrote.

Scorsese highlighted Reiner's acting part in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, portraying the father of the protagonist.

"His improvisation skills with the best. He was a virtuoso at comedy, he worked wonderfully with everyone, and he grasped the personal struggle of his character," Scorsese added.

Recently, a Los Angeles superior court judge ruled to prevent the publication of the Reiners' medical examiner's reports, at the request from the Los Angeles Police Department.
