Close to Ninety Flights Linked to Jeffrey Epstein Reportedly Arrived at or Departed from British Airports
An investigation has found that close to 90 aircraft journeys connected to the late financier Jeffrey Epstein are said to have arrived at and departed from British airports, with some allegedly carrying British women who allege they were victimized by the found guilty child sex offender.
Aviation Records Uncover Pattern of Movement
The flight logs were among thousands of legal papers and files released by Epstein’s estate that have been made public over the last year. The analysis identified 87 flights tied to Epstein – including many that were previously unknown – coming into or leaving from UK airports between the start of the 1990s and 2018.
Passenger Details and After Guilty Verdict Flights
Unnamed women were recorded among the passengers flying to and from the UK. Notably, 15 of these flights involving the UK occurred following Epstein’s 2008 guilty verdict for soliciting sex from a minor.
“This is ‘shocking’ that there had never been a ‘thorough probe in the UK’ into his operations in the country,” remarked American attorneys acting for numerous Epstein survivors.
British Victims and Court Cases
Evidence from one of the British victims was instrumental in convicting Epstein’s accomplice socialite Ghislaine Maxwell of child sex-trafficking in the US in 2021. But, that victim has not received any contact by British law enforcement, according to her Florida-based lawyer.
In a statement, the Metropolitan police stated they had “not received any additional information that would support restarting the investigation.” They noted, “Should new and relevant evidence be brought to our attention, including any arising from the release of documents in the US, we will assess it.”
Ongoing Disclosure and Judicial Decisions
Proposed legislation to release all files held by the US government in relation to Epstein was approved by the US Congress last month. The Department of Justice has until 19 December to follow through. A vast number of documents are anticipated to be released.
Separately, a federal judge decided last week that the department could disclose investigative materials from a sex-trafficking case against Maxwell, Epstein’s longtime confidante, who is serving a 20-year jail term over the charges.
